She Had Only 1% Chance of Survival, but She Turned out to be a Fighter
Life kicked off on a bad note for baby Jonathon who needed a ventilator for 2 weeks after his premature birth in order to stay alive. But this preemie baby was full of optimism just like his parents who knew that the bad days will soon be behind them. Only 25-weeks-old and the size of a hockey puck at the time of birth, Jonathon had been given only 1% chance of survival by the doctors but after battling for life for 5 months in NICU, this little fella came out victorious.
Second Chance at Life
This little baby has every reason to smile, after all, he did get a second chance at life after his premature delivery which could have killed him. The baby was 12 weeks early and weighed only 2lbs. He had to be put in intensive care immediately in order to increase his survival chances and after spending 8 weeks in the hospital, doctors finally cleared him of any danger and he was ready to go to his new home.

This preemie baby spent 121 days in the NICU with his entire family praying for his health. 6 months into the pregnancy, the mother was told that her little baby was in trouble and had to be taken out prematurely in order for him to survive. At the time of birth, he weighed only 1lb and 4oz and had to be kept away from his parents for two weeks. When the mother held her baby for the first time since his birth, it was an overwhelming moment for the entire family. Pixie was only 28 weeks old at the time of delivery and weighed just over 3lbs. The doctors told the mother that they needed to keep pixie warm in order to keep her alive which is why they chose an unusual method to transport her to the NICU: by putting her in a zip-lock bag from the supermarket.
